THE MISSION
In the summer of 1887, my great grandfather, William Henry Emery, immigrated to the United States of America from Edinborough, Scotland. He practiced the business of real estate. During his long and successful career in Rochester New York, he was witness to, and spoke out against unethical behavior and a lack of oversight.
William Emery eventually founded the first group of real estate agents to adopt a
Code of Ethics
I was named after him, but it was only after many years practicing real estate did I learn that he had been among those who were so influential in the development of high standards of conduct in the industry.
My mission is to continue my great-grandfather's mission:
by placing ethical behavior and moral conduct at the cornerstone of business practices.
The Realtor's Code of Ethics goes far beyond the laws of the land when describing the rules of the game. But I go beyond the Code by practicing not just lawful and ethical standards, but also mindful of the best way to act :
The Golden Rule
I treat people as I expect to be treated; with honesty, sincerity, and good nature.
